Terms of Service

Last updated November 1, 2026

These terms are between TruePoint Companies LLC ("Tailbunk", "we", "us") and the business that signs up for Tailbunk ("you"). They cover the Tailbunk app, the family portal and the website we host for you (together, "the service").

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you're allowed to agree on its behalf.

1. What the service is

Tailbunk is software for pet care businesses: boarding, daycare, grooming and training. It keeps your bookings, clients, pets, care records, staff time, invoices and payments you record, and it gives your families a portal and your business a public website.

The service is offered to businesses in the United States only.

2. Your account and your team

  • Give us accurate details about you and your business, and keep them up to date.
  • Keep passwords private. Two-step sign-in is available on every staff account and is required for owners and managers.
  • You decide who on your team gets an account and what role they have. You're responsible for what your team does in your account.
  • Tell us right away at legal@tailbunk.com if you think someone has used your account without permission.

3. Trial, price and billing

New businesses get a 30-day free trial with everything turned on. No card is needed to start.

After the trial, the price is $119 per location per month, or $99 per location per month billed yearly. Your website is included. There's no setup fee and no contract.

Fees are charged in advance for each month or year, by card, through our payment provider. Prices don't include sales tax, which we add where the law requires it.

We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. A change applies from your next billing period.

If a payment fails, we'll tell you and try again. If it still isn't paid after we've told you, we may pause your account until it is. Your data stays safe while it's paused.

4. Payments from your clients

Tailbunk takes 0% of the payments your clients make to you.

When a business turns on online payments, card payments are processed by Stripe under the business's own Stripe account and Stripe's terms. Tailbunk takes 0% of those payments and never sees full card numbers.

Stripe's fees, payouts, refunds and disputes are between you and Stripe. Until you turn on online payments, the payments you record in Tailbunk are records only: no money moves through us.

5. Your data

Your data is yours. That includes your business details and everything you or your clients put into the service about your clients and their pets ("your data").

You let us store, copy and process your data only to run the service for you, keep it secure, and support you. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.

Our Data Processing Terms explain how we handle the personal information in your data for you. They're part of these terms. Read the Data Processing Terms.

You can ask us for a full export of your data at any time, at no charge.

6. Your responsibilities to your clients

You run your business and you decide what to collect from your clients. You're responsible for:

  • Having the right to put your clients' information into the service, and telling them how you use it.
  • Checking the privacy notice we add to your website. We build it from your business details, but it's your notice to your clients, and you can ask us to change it if it doesn't fit how you work.
  • Your own agreements, waivers, policies and prices. We give you tools to collect signatures; the wording is yours.
  • Following the laws that apply to your business, including animal care and licensing rules, consumer protection rules, and email marketing rules (for example, only emailing newsletters to people who signed up).
  • The care you give to animals. The service records care and flags things like expiring vaccines, but it isn't veterinary advice and doesn't replace your judgment or a vet's.

7. AI features

Some features use AI to read uploaded vet records, vaccine certificates and care instructions into forms, and to draft report card notes and website wording. They're provided by Anthropic under its commercial terms, which don't allow it to train its models on this data.

AI results are suggestions. They can be wrong. Your team checks a reading before it's saved and edits a draft before it's sent or published. You can turn AI features off for your business in Business settings, and then none of them run.

8. Your website

Your website lives at an address on tailbunk.com or on your own domain. What you publish on it (words, photos, prices, policies) is yours, and you're responsible for it.

Your website shows a small "Powered by Tailbunk" line and a link to the privacy notice for your clients.

9. Things you can't do

  • Break the law with the service, or use it to harm animals or people.
  • Send spam, or email or text people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
  • Upload anything you don't have the right to use, or anything harmful like malware.
  • Try to get into another business's data, test our security without our written permission, or overload the service.
  • Copy, resell or rent out the service, or try to get at its source code, except where the law allows.

If you do, we may remove the content or pause your account. Unless it's urgent or the law stops us, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

10. What's ours

The service, its software, design and the Tailbunk name and logo belong to us. You get the right to use the service while your account is open. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

11. Keeping the service running

We work hard to keep the service fast, secure and available, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may need short maintenance windows, and services we rely on can have outages.

We improve the service often. If we remove a feature you rely on or make a change that matters to you, we'll tell you ahead of time.

12. Cancelling and closing an account

You can cancel any time from your account or by emailing us. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded for a partly used month or year, except where the law requires it.

We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or for fees left unpaid after notice.

When an account closes, we offer you a full export of your data. We delete your data 30 days after the export is offered. Copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 35 days after that. We may keep a small amount of information we need for our own legal, tax or billing records.

13. No promises beyond these terms

As far as the law allows, the service is provided "as is". We don't make promises about it that aren't written in these terms, including promises that it fits a particular purpose or will be free of errors.

14. Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits, lost revenue, or indirect, special or consequential damages.

As far as the law allows, our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.

15. Claims about your business

If someone makes a claim against us because of your data, your website content, the services you provide to your clients, or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees. We'll tell you promptly about the claim and let you take part in handling it.

16. Disagreements

If something goes wrong, email us first at legal@tailbunk.com. Most problems get solved quickly that way, and we'll both try in good faith for 30 days before going further.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any court case about them will be heard in the state or federal courts in Travis County, Texas, and we both agree to those courts.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a change that matters, we'll email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before they do.

18. The rest

  • These terms, the Data Processing Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service.
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer your account to someone else without our agreement. We may transfer these terms if our business is sold or reorganized, and we'll tell you.
  • Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control.
  • We'll send notices to the email address of your account's owner. Send notices to us by email.
